Books and Catalogues
|
The Society has authored four books that have been published by Arcadia Publishing.
All four books draw primarily upon the collections of the Society and each book
contains over 220 historic photographs of the area. Each of the images is researched
and written bout in the books. Proceeds from the sale of these books directly underwrites
the Society’s collection related activities, including acquisition, organization, storage,
and cataloguing. The four books authored by the Society are as follows:
Abington, Jenkintown, and Rockledge (2000)
Cheltenham Township (2001)
The Morelands and Bryn Athyn (2002)
Willow Grove Park (2005)
The Society has also fostered research and publications through the organization of
exhibitions as well as providing images for other authors to use in illustrating their
own works. These publications are also available through the Society.
The Society continually strives to maintain the highest standards of historical
accuracy. Despite our meticulous research of each of our books, errors are made
and corrected as soon as the publisher is able to make such changes.
If you notice any error in any of our books, please notify us so that the
issue may be researched and corrected.

Penickpacka Historical Society Bulletin
|
The Penickpacka Historical Society was active from 1966 to 2001 and
was interested in the history of Lower Moreland and Bryn Athyn.
When the organization folded, members were encouraged to join the
Old York Road Historical Society. Some of the papers of the
organization were turned over to the Old York Road Historical Society
including a number of the back issues of the Penickpacka’s journal.
The journal was issued annually, with two exceptions,
from 1980 to 2001.
